On 30th January, Trân defended her doctoral thesis with the title “Maintaining human mitochondrial DNA: Insights into Replication Stress, Pathogenic Mutations, and Related Mitochondrial Processes”. Guillaume is doing his Master’s program in France, and this semester he will be working in our lab for his Master’s thesis for the next 6 months ! Welcome to Umeå, Guillaume! Hope you will enjoy doing science with us and have lots of beautiful memories in Umeå!

On 9th January, Trân’s doctoral thesis book was nailed to the board at the University Library and can now be found on Diva Portal! One more step is complete! Congrats! Trân is going to have her public defense on 30th January, all the best!

Louise Leite Fernandes is now in her second year in Biomedicine programme at Umeå Universitet, and with Forskaraspiranterna she got this year, she will be joining our lab for 10 weeks in summer. Welcome, Louise! Hope that you will have lots of fun in the lab! 

On May 9th, Andi defended his doctoral thesis with the title “Investigating the Biology and specific Targeting of Individual G-Quadruplex Structures”, and Professor Marco Di Antonio from Imperial College London and the Crick Institute, UK served as his opponent. You did a wonderful job Andi! Congrats on your big achievement! 🥳

On 16th April, our phD student Andi held a posting ceremony for his doctoral thesis book at the University Library. His thesis is now available online for everyone to have a look at before his public defence in a few weeks! Good luck Andi!
