On 30th January, Trân defended her doctoral thesis with the title “Maintaining human mitochondrial DNA: Insights into Replication Stress, Pathogenic Mutations, and Related Mitochondrial Processes”. She had an insightful discussion with the opponent, Professor Aleksandra Trifunovic from the University of Cologne, Germany, and the committee members, Dr.Bertil Macao, Dr.Francesca Aguilo, and Professor Stig Jacobsson.
After an unusually long defence presentation and discussion, we joined the traditional celebration at Medchem to share the memorable moments with Trân on her academic milestone! We also got her a sweet surprise so that she can spend some stress-free time after her defence! 🎁🔭
